Photoshoot for an anxious dog

Does your dog suffer from anxiety? Do they not cope well in new situations? Do you want to book in a photoshoot with your anxious dog to capture those memories, but you’re worried about how they will cope? Or that you won’t get any good photos?

Anxiety in dogs is so common! So many of my clients dogs suffer from anxiety! This will not affect our session!

Here are a few tips that can help make our sessions as stress free as possible:

1. We can do an in home session. Our dogs are most comfortable in their own environment where they feel safe. These sessions are just as beautiful as outdoor sessions and capture some of the best emotions from our dogs.

2. If we do an outdoor photoshoot we can keep your dog on a lead the whole time. All of my photography sessions include on lead photographs. I can edit out the leads afterwards. It also makes it easier to get those perfect shots than following a dog around off lead.

3. I have lenses that can capture images from further away. So if your dog isn’t comfortable being too close to the camera I can move back and still capture those perfect images.

4. Bring their favourite toys and treats. One of the easiest ways to get our dogs to cooperate during a photoshoot is with their favourite treats or a toy!

5. Breaks! I don’t rush the photoshoots. We can stop as many times as we need to to make sure that your dog is comfortable and not stressed.
